Conscious Consumerism
The goal of Conscious Consumerism is to provide people an opportunity to purchase products that are benefiting people and the environment.
In doing so, you make a vote with your money and resources on what practices are acceptable in your community and the world.
When you make a conscious effort to understand the "who, what, and where" of the product you are purchasing, you become a player in a larger process.
You have the ability to change unfair systems in your country and communities beyond your national voting power.
You send a message to large corporations, governments, and the world that things have to change.
Making a choice to buy local, organic, and fair trade, puts the world closer to ending many of the imbalances like hunger, poverty, and environmental destruction.
Being a conscious consumer and with your purchase of local, organic, and fair trade you support:
- the growth and sustainability of your local economy
- small business and small scale production
- more human powered production with less resource waste and consumption
- protecting our environment and health
- traditional cultures and crafts
- the soulful process of high quality, unique, handmade creations
